Make your first image
The image generator at /app/generate/[creation] is the most-used screen in Colabz. You write a prompt, set a few options, and hit the arrow. Drafts come back fast; final renders cost credits. This page walks you end to end.
Run a generation#
-
Open a creation. Click AI Photoshoot on the dashboard, or open an existing creation from Recent. New users get an "Untitled" creation auto-generated.
-
Pick a Studio. Click the Studio dropdown in the prompt bar. Pick the look that fits your brand.
-
Add a Product or Face (optional). Type
@in the prompt to reference a saved product or face. The autocomplete opens with all of yours. -
Write your prompt. One sentence. Subject, scene, framing, mood. Skip "high quality" filler.
-
Set quality. 1K (5 credits) for ideation, 2K (7 credits) for production, 4K (16 credits) for print.
-
Set aspect ratio and variations. 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16, or 3:4. 1 to 4 variations per run.
-
Click the arrow. Drafts arrive in seconds. The credit cost was already shown below the prompt bar before you submitted.
Tips#
Tip: 2K beats 4K in most cases at less than half the credits. Reach for 4K only when the subject demands extreme detail (jewelry, watches, fine textures).
Tip: When a result lands, copy its prompt and change one variable at a time. That is how you build a coherent series.
Tip: Studios understand context. The same prompt produces wildly different results in "Beauty Editorial" vs "Catalog White." Pick first, prompt second.
Aspect ratios#
- 1:1. Square. Social posts, marketplace tiles.
- 4:3. Catalog photography.
- 16:9. Banners, ads, hero images.
- 9:16. Stories, Reels, TikTok.
- 3:4. Portrait product shots.
My result has the wrong product#
Either the @product mention is missing from the prompt, or the Studio is overriding it. Add the product explicitly and write a more concrete subject phrase.
Multiple subjects merge into a grid#
Specifying multiple poses or subjects ("model standing, model sitting") often produces a single grid image. Run separate generations instead.
Out of credits mid-creation#
Hit Top up credits in the upgrade modal that appears, or open Workspace settings → Billing. Top-up credits never expire.
